A bit about Max Fisher:

  • Max first played for Kedron Reserves in 1947 and then played A-Grade from 1948 to 1959 including the 1959 Premiership team.

  • He was vice-captain in 1955 and Captain in 1956.

  • The 1959 Grand Final was his 200th game for Kedron.

  • Represented Queensland 7 times between 1948 and 1959.

  • Played at centre half back, centre and centre half forward.

  • Max was a dedicated club man spending many years on the social and management committees.

  • He liked to have a drink and party, really enjoying the social side of the club.

  • Max passed away following an accident at Clifton (near Toowoomba) on 8 October 1962, aged 35.

  • He was held in such high regard in AFL circles evident by representatives from every Brisbane team at his funeral.

  • In 1963, as a tribute to his popularity and contribution to AFL and the Kedron "Reg Legs", it was decided to inaugurate the Max Fisher Memorial Best and Fairest Memorial Trophy which was re-instated in 2007 for the Kedron Senior Team.
